The subject of Benefits is a huge area to cover and I hope the information enclosed is put in such a way that can be used by all. Any suggestions would be welcome if you have other ideas of how this important subject can be displayed and discussed. Benefits are people's right when life's challenges disrupt their regular income. Trauma and disability are devastating. How it affects a person's, couple's or family's income can be catastrophic. Financial implications of becoming ill or being injured can be the cause of immense stress and can affect a person's recovery. Timely advice and assistance regarding benefits can relieve some of that stress. In this section I have only covered Benefits which may be of particular relevance to someone who is unable to work due to ill-health or injury. The information given is meant only as a guide, a starting point of information; it cannot provide the information needed to cover individual circumstances. Please note that the new Government is in the process of rewriting and changing much of the legislation around benefits. This will include who will be entitled to a benefit and how long people can claim for. Readers are therefore advised that when making a claim, further information is sought from the benefits office that may be available at that time.

Hi Beryl, With the recent changes to benefits are you able to update your section on benefits to reflect this? As you can see your boards on benefits have been accessed for information by hundreds of visitors and are a valuable contribution. Many thanks Denise
