CQC: Case study: Driving improvements in mental health 28th April 2011 When independent healthcare came under a new regulatory system from the start of October 2010, all providers were required to demonstrate that they were meeting a range of essential standards. In the period running up to this new system taking effect, one of the CQC's inspectors in the north west of England, Sarah, had been closely monitoring an independent hospital providing mental health services.
