Welcome to Everyone
Case Management cannot be described in just a few words. Although there are similarities to the work with every client you meet, the remit of the work is so vast that with each client there will be new things to learn and new challenges to face that haven't been faced before.
I constantly find myself having to learn new skills and adapt to new situations. The work can be as different as the people you meet and of course the clients and other professionals you work with will make the experience feel different every time.
When attending training and awareness days the most enjoyable and rich way of learning for me is talking to other Case Managers about their experiences; the problems they have faced and the ways in which they have solved them. The net working that can be done on these days is invaluable and a major reason why I try to attend as many as I can.
If you are an independent practitioner like me or work away from your main team base a lot of the time, you can sometimes begin to feel a little isolated.
The aim of this forum is to share knowledge and expertise so that we can learn from people who are involved in the work in some way. It is a forum to be able to net work with other professionals, as we do on training days, who have experience and knowledge to share.
Case Management can be a tough job to do and to get it right every time is a challenge: Case Management can be the most rewarding job one can possibly have. One thing for sure; it is never boring!
Thank you
