CQC publishes annual report on the state of care. The CQC has published the second annual report into the state of health and adult social care in England. The latest report ( www.cqc.org.uk/newsandevents/newsstories.cfm?FaArea1=customwidgets.content_view_1&cit_id=37281) reveals that services provided during the lead up to the Health and Social Care Act 2008 improved in three ways: • People had greater control over their care • More care homes and home care services met the essential standards • The quality of care commissioned by councils between September 2008 and September 2009 improved.
